Aboitiz expands Davao port terminal

Aboitiz Construction – the infrastructure arm of the Aboitiz Group – recently completed building the new berth of the DICT Bulk Terminal Inc. (DBTI) in Davao del Norte, expanding the facility’s bulk cargo handling capacity.

“Our continuing partnership with DICT—spanning projects since 2017—has allowed us to showcase our engineering and construction expertise in delivering quality infrastructure that supports the region’s growth,” said Aboitiz Construction president and chair Anton Perdices in a statement.

DBTI is a joint venture between Davao International Container Terminal Inc. and Philcement Corp.

The expanded berth now measures 200 meters long and 18.5 meters wide. It can accommodate vessels with a deadweight tonnage of up to 60,000.

With the berth expansion, the terminal now operates 930 meters of berth length—positioning Mindanao as a premier agro-industrial gateway.
