Without batting an eyelash, actress Maine Mendoza immediately reacted repulsively against the mudslinging by Curlee Discaya on her husband Arjo Atayde, congressman of the First District of Quezon City.
Atayde is one of the lawmakers identified by Discaya as a recipient of percentages from the flood control projects he got from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
In her social media posts, Mendoza–also known as Yaya Dub, the TV character she played opposite Alden Richards as Al (to complete the portmateau AlDub) in “Eat Bulaga”–expressed her disgust allegedly over the unfounded accusations.
“Teka lang muna, those are baseless accusations ” exclaimed Maine.
“Napaka-unfair (Very unfair),” she quippped.
She pleaded the public to stop smearing against Arjo.
“Please refrain from throwing hate and personal attacks at him, including me and our family until facts come out,” quipped the actress.
As a wife, stressed Maine, she is one with Atayde in facing up the issue.
“I am with my husband in this. Wala siyang ginagawang masama sa loob (He hasn’t done anything).
“He has been doing his best to serve the people of his district in Quezon City since the beginning,” she qualified.
Mendoza hoped her husband will be vindicated and the real culprits will be exposed
“I sincerely hope and pray that the people who are TRULY responisable will be held accountable and that innocent individuals are spared from this mess,” she said.
