Impressive Suzuki Fronx in media drive

Suzuki Philippines staged a media test drive called the “Ride-And-Drive Experience” which brought a number of motoring media participants to Bagac, Bataas onboard some 20 all-new Suzuki Fronx.

The media test drive started at the Suzuki Auto Kalookan, one of the biggest Suzuki dealerships in the country, where the participants were treated to a hearty breakfast.

The main purpose of the whole event, according to Suzuki Philippines Director and General Manager for Automobile Division Norihide Takei during his breakfast speech, was for the select members of the media to experience a different vibe driving the all-new Suzuki Fronx.

“We want you to experience this new Suzuki vehicle in town which we are about to launch next week. The long drive to Bataan is expected to be full of fun in spite of the rainy weather the past few days. We hope you enjoy the itinerary we have planned for this two-day event and hope you also get to know the Suzuki Fronx much better,” said Takei in an interview with The Market Monitor.

After the customary group photo in front of Suzuki Auto Kalookan, the 20 Suzuki Front with two motoring media on board each. They took turn on the wheels as they cruise their way to the first stop at Lakeshore in North Luzon Expressway, then immediately to the second stop at Mesa Feliz Resturant in Balanga, Bataan.

After a hearty lunch, the bunch proceeded to the Caltex station in Diwa-Pilar, Bataan, where the sealed gas tank of each participating Suzuki Fronx were opened and refilled. All the distanced traveled and the gasoline consumed were taken and later became the basis of the fuel efficiency challenge among the participants. The due of Monch Henares and Arabelle Jimenez ruled the said challenge with an average gasoline consumption of 22.89 kms/liter after travelling 160 kms with a fuel consumption of 6.99 liters.

Later in the afternoon, the whole group visited the Pawikan Conservation Center in Morong, Bataas where Suzuki Philippines donated a vehicle to the conservation group manning the center by the bay for its corporate social responsibility work. Just before sundown, the group reached Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac, Bataan for an overnight stay.

Majority of the participants expressed amazement to the all-new Suzuki Fronx that is bold, coupe-styled SUV that blends Suzuki’s compact car expertise with advanced technologies. The 1.5L engine offers impressive fuel efficiency, low emissions, and strong torque because of the dual fuel injectors, a higher compression ratio, an EGR system to lower combustion temperatures and reduce pumping loss, roller rocker arms to minimize friction, and optimized valve timing via VVT.

With its very refined shocks and body structure, which really impressed us during high-speed driving, this all-new Suzuki Fronx can give a fairly good competition to its present rivals in town – the Toyota Raize and the Kia Sonnet. This Sept. 12, we may know fully if the price they will impose on their vehicle’s launch will very competitive as well. – Andy Sevilla
