ACER Day 2024: A rousing success

MORE than 20,000 fans, including those who followed the live Facebook stream, participated in the Acer Day 2024 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City last Aug. 4.

Sue Ong Lim, Managing Director of Acer Philippines, remarked: “Acer Day helps connect us with our customers through music and various activities that allow them to experience our products. These tools empower individuals to explore limitless possibilities and bring their ideas to life.”

The star-studded event featured performances from Acer ambassadors SB19, Sandara Park, and G22, along with other musical powerhouses like Cup of Joe, TJ Monterde, Ebe Dancel, and Rico Blanco. 

Host for the event was the charismatic Luis Manzano.

The concert kicked off with pop/alternative band Cup of Joe, who energized the crowd with their hits “Wag na Lang,” “Tingin,” and “Estranghero.”Singer-songwriter TJ Monterde followed, captivating the audience with his soulful renditions of “Mahika,” “Tulad Mo,” and “Palagi.”

OPM icon Ebe Dancel brought a wave of nostalgia with timeless classics like “Hari ng Sablay,” “Makita Kang Muli,” “Wag Kang Umiyak,” and “Bawat Daan.” Dancel also reminisced about how Acer supported him during the pandemic, offering him the opportunity to perform when gigs were scarce.

Rico Blanco, another legend in the OPM scene, kept the momentum going with a powerful set that included “Antukin,” “Umaaraw Umuulan,” “Your Universe,” “Kisapmata,” and “You’ll be Safe Here.” 

The crowd was in high spirits, fully engaged with Blanco’s energetic performance.

International superstar Sandara Park, alongside P-pop girl group G22, delivered a memorable performance of “In or Out,” followed by a joint performance of “Reset” with SB19, a song they collaborated on for Acer in 2023. 

G22, known as the “Female Alphas of P-pop,” also thrilled the audience with hits like “Boomerang,” “Bang,” “One Sided Love,” and “Loka.”

Sandara Park, whose group 2NE1 is reuniting, kept the vibe upbeat with performances of “Dara Dara,” “I Don’t Care,” and a powerful medley of “I’m the Best+Can’t Nobody.” SB19, the “Kings of P-pop,” showcased their unmatched talent with tracks like “Gento,” “Hanggang sa Huli,” “Crimzone,” and an unreleased song titled “Kalakal” featuring rapper Gloc 9.

The night reached its climax with the performance of “Limitless,” the theme song of Acer Day 2024, composed by SB19’s leader, Pablo. The collaboration between SB19 and G22 was a perfect representation of the concert’s theme, highlighting the limitless potential of both the artists and Acer’s innovations.
