Chevrolet, one of the distinct names in the local auto industry, makes a bold comeback with the unveiling of the all-new Captiva 7-seater crossover MPV last Friday at its spanking Chevrolet Calamba showroom in Laguna.
No less than Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, the vice chair, president and CEO of Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc., spearheaded the well-attended launch that was attended by several bank officials, specials guests, and members of the media. Hariphil is the umbrella group now overseeing the Hyundai Trucks & Bus, Volvo, and Chevrolet businesses in the local market.

The head-turner Captiva comes in two variants – the 1.5 CVT Premier and the 1.5T CVT LTZ – and they will be retailed at eye-popping P1,408,000 for the Premier and P1.258,000 for the LTZ. Both variants are 7 seaters and can be had with a very low cash out of P58,000 for the LTZ and P76,000 for the Premier.
“This all-new Captiva is a game-changer and will definitely be a popular vehicle for individual and family needs. The Chevrolet badge is inherent in this vehicle that can be used for any city or even off-road driving,” said Agudo, who makes a seemingly comeback in the auto business after her colorful stint in the Hyundai cars and recently with Changan. A recent management changes in both Chevrolet and Volvo catapulted Agudo to the top once again, a position she was accustomed to before.
Chevrolet Captiva comes to defy all expectations for what an SUV should be. Apart from its distinctive styling throughout, this 7-seater has enough room to fit everything or everyone and has a full suite of convenient technology and advanced safety features.
The Chevrolet Captiva is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged engine that is capable of delivering 150ps and 255nm of torque. Captiva has new front and rear fascias, available LED auto headlamps, and new 18-inch alloy wheels. The Electronic Stability Control helps prevent the vehicle from skidding out of control by applying brake pressure to the wheels that need it, and by limiting engine power when necessary.
Captiva is housed within a high-strength steel safety cage with 6 airbags to protect all passengers and it generously offers three rows of seats that can comfortably fit up to seven passengers and with a flat rear floor and multiple cargo configurations that adjust to your needs. There is also a massive center display and digital cluster with available Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
