Through performances and appearances by GMA Sparkle artists Julie Anne San Jose, Gabbi Garcia, and Mikee Quintos, World Gin Day 2025 proved that Gin is In—cool, clear, and versatile. More than just a festive gathering, the event, held June at Manila Diamond Hotel, was a proud showcase of Filipino craftsmanship and global presence, led by a brand that continues to represent the Philippines on the international stage.
Filipino gin enthusiasts were in for a treat as they embarked on a journey during World Gin Day.
Spearheaded by Ginebra San Miguel Inc. (GSMI), producer of the world’s best-selling gin, the immersive event transformed the hotel ballroom into a global gateway—where every sip took guests to a new destination and every corner showcased gin’s distinct qualities.
Framed around a dynamic, flight-inspired narrative, the World of Gin experience unfolded across three thematic chapters, each narrating the story of Ginebra as a world-class spirit. The event was opened by GSM endorser, rapper Nik Makino, setting the stage for a vibrant celebration.
The aviation-themed journey kicked off with Cool Botanica, a garden-inspired space focused on gin’s botanicals, such as juniper berries. Guests engaged in a hands-on sensory experience, exploring the ingredients that give gin its signature character. This zone came to life with the first chapter, “World of Adventure – Gin is Cool,” led by popular personality Boss Toyo, who embodied gin’s cool confidence. He shared what makes gin effortlessly stylish, while roving Gin Carts served up classic Singapore Sling cocktails.
The second leg, “World of Excellence – Gin is Clear,” took guests through the Clear Archives—a museum-style space inspired by a traditional London pub. It explored gin’s European origins and its growth in the Philippines. Representing this segment was Atty. Oliver Moeller, who spoke about gin’s purity and clarity, sharing insights on the intricate distillation process behind Ginebra’s award-winning products. Testimonials from gin experts, mixologists, and international distributors reinforced GSMI’s status as a globally recognized and awarded Filipino brand.
One of the highlights of the evening was a message from Global World Gin Day Ambassador Emma Stokes, who shared that over 36 countries around the world now celebrate World Gin Day every second Saturday of June, with Ginebra San Miguel leading the festivities in the Philippines. Stokes remarked that from Brussels to Bangkok, gin enthusiasts are beginning to appreciate what Filipinos have long known—Ginebra is a truly world-class spirit.
