To age is a privilege. At least that’s what Joyce Peñas Pilarsky embodies.
At 72, she represents the belief that life starts at 70—a reminder that life is short, but every new day offers another chance and another beginning.
“I believe we only have one life to live,” she said, fully embracing life with gratitude, optimism, and a sense of possibility. Her journey is a testament to the belief: “Walang imposible.”
Standing at 5’8”, Pilarsky has lived a life shaped by varied experiences.
At the press conference and grand media launch of “Walang Imposible” in San Juan City on September , she shared that she was formerly a PAL flight attendant who later worked with Saudi Arabian Airlines, Saudia. Beyond her aviation career, she has explored her creative side through painting, music, and playing the guitar.
She was recently crowned Mrs. Elite Elegante World International 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
A day in Joyce’s life
Pilarsky always begins her day with gratitude. Upon waking up , she praises God for being alive. She takes time to pray and meditate, thanking God for all the blessings she will receive and asking, “Please bless my day.”
Her day ends in much the same spirit. In the evening, she thanks God for everything that happened that day—whether good or bad, and for the blessings she has received. She believes in continuously thanking and praising God for everything.
For Pilarsky, simply being alive is itself a blessing. The beauty queen believes in remaining grateful and sharing life with the people she loves.
A new chapter
Pilarsky, also a fashion designer, is looking forward to another milestone: praying to finish her book, which she hopes to publish in November. The book will focus on wellness and health, drawing from her experiences and her desire to share what she has learned about living a meaningful, healthy life.
“I’m very positive na matutulungan kayo ng libro na ito,” she said. “Kasi ang dami kong experiences.”
At the Teatrino event, Pilarsky performed her latest single “Walang Imposible,” composed by veteran songwriter Vehnee Saturno. Its lyrics capture the song’s message of resilience and self-belief:
“Ngitian ang problema, lahat ay makakaya
Walang imposible, ika’y magwawagi
Maniwala lang sa iyong sarili
Kung nadapa ay bumangon ka lang”
Also in attendance was Saturno, who is marking his 46th year in the music industry. He puts it simply: “Libre lang mangarap. Kung magagawa mo na, gawin mo na.”
For Pilarsky, “Walang imposible when you have the courage to dream and the heart to believe.”
Age does not have to close the door on ambition, creativity, learning or new beginnings.
Pilarsky also performed a rendition of “Smile,” with its gentle reminder: “You’ll find that life is still worthwhile, if you just smile.”
And perhaps that is the message Pilarsky embodies most clearly: there is no expiration date on dreaming. At 72, she continues to embrace new beginnings, pursue her passions, and prove—to herself and to others—that it is never too late to begin again.
