Bacolod is top tourist spot for Singaporeans

Bacolod is listed among the top emerging destinations for Singaporeans in 2019, according to travel site Skyscanner.

According to the APAC Travel Trends Report, Skyscanner said Bacolod is the fifth top emerging destination for Singaporean tourists next year.

Among the attractions drawing visitors to Bacolod are the San Sebastian Cathedral and The Ruins, according to Skyscanner author Paul Andrew.

“However, the real reason for a Bacolod visit is to explore the drop-dead gorgeous island of Negros,” Andrew said.

Skyscanner also cited Bacolod’s colorful MasKara Festival as another attraction to witness.

“Trekkers will be awed by the trails in the Twin Lakes National Park with its virgin rainforest teeming with life. If it is encounters with nature you seek, you won’t be disappointed with a Bacalod vacation in 2019,” Skyscanner said.

Singapore is currently the country’s ninth largest source markets for foreign arrivals.

From January to September this year, a total of 130,674 Singaporeans visited the Philippines, a 2.44% increase from 125,442 last year.

Bacolod joins Berlin in Germany, Moscow in Russia and Kuching in Malaysia, among others, as the top destinations for Singaporeans next year.

Skyscanner also reported that Manila was the 8th top destination for Singaporeans in 2018.
