Baluyot submits Catalan Jr. in CamSur’s URCC Kaogma Collision 2

Eros Baluyot caught Rene Catalan Jr and forced him into submission recently in one of the interesting matches in the Universal Reality Combat Championship Kaogma Collision 2 at Fuerte Sports Complex in Capitol Grounds in Cadlan Pili, Camarines Sur.

Baluyot, ranked No. 447 among MMA fighters in the Asia Pacific Region, pulled off the victory via armbar submission in the second round against Catalan before an appreciative crowd in the URCC flyweight championship, main event of the historic MMA confrontations in the province.

Baluyot had also beaten Catalan’s father Rene Sr. via rear naked choke in the URCC last August 2023.

In another mainer serving as treat for Bicolanos celebrating the creation of Camarines Sur as a province, Jun Hyung Lee won via technical knockout against Jayson Magallo in the featherweight interim championship.

Team World prevailed over Team Pinas, and Team Manila over Team CamSur in a pair of 3v3.

The fight card, supported by Governor Lray Villafuerte, Cam Sur 2nd district representative Luigi Villafuerte and 5th district representative Migz Villafuerte, was part of a summertime province-wide festivity marking the creation of Camarines Sur as a province.

URCC President and founder Alvin Aguilar also expressed his gratitude to the Villafuertes and the CamSur people for allowing the country’s top MMA fighters to display their fighting skills during a summertime festival celebration in their province.

Also hogging the limelight were fast-rising Menard Atole, Alex Asio Jr, Robin Leonen, Jhon Brutas, Rufino Mante, and Ian Lora.

The 5-foot-7 Atole who has a moniker ‘Fresh Kid,’ spent more than two rounds sizing up his opponent, Juro Amandoron in the opening bout.

Amandoron tried to hit Atole with a right kick but missed. Too bad, he lost his balance in his attempt, and Atole seized the opportunity to deliver a barrage of punches on the fallen Amandoron, forcing the referee to stop the contest.

Alex Asio Jr followed suit, beating out Israel Balisican via unanimous decision, while Leonen was declared winner without a contest against Isidro Rupido.

Jhon Brutas also won via unanimous decision against Mark Cuizon, while Mante won over Jacis Macasinag, also via unanimous decision.

Lora however produced one of the best wins for the night, needing only one round and nine seconds in the second to beat Lolo Cruz via knockout.
