Once is not enough.
Two or more isn’t too much especially if it is an expression of love like getting married.
A Filipino hyperbole “…pakakasalan sa lahat ng simbahan (…will marry in all churches)” would suffice it.
Is this coming true to the planned wedding between actress Bea Alonzo, Phylbert Angelli Escalante Ranollo Fagestrom in real life, and businessman Ferdinand Vincent Pe Co?
While Bea and Vincent aren’t confirming the date of their wedding after the banns were announced online at the St. Peter the Apostle in Paco, Manila on March 8, 2026, there are reports that the couple is set to walk down the aisle on May 16, 2026 but some entertainment writers, like France Simeon et al, are saying that the actual wedding day is a few days earlier than published.
An account by movie journalist Jennifer Santos said that the nuptials might occur during the last week of March or the first week of April this year.
Which is which?
Accordingly, the bride and groom are reported to have been already sending invitations to kith and kin.
Would they include Bea’s best friends Dimples Romana and her husband Romeo “Boyet” Adecer Ahmee, Jr. and fellow actor Beatriz Saw whom the couple have just met on Easter Sunday?
Too bad, Dimples, Boyet and Beatriz are mum about the issue or are they just keeping a tight secret traditionally and deeply rooted among show people to avoid intrusion making the event a hullabaloo?
This is showbiz, anyway, and nothing else is hidden forever.
Not only the date of Alonzo and Co’s red-letter day is kept under wraps, the venue of the matrimony is a guessing game as well.
In Filipino culture, though, the church where the banns are publicized is also the same place to say “I dos”—that is in Manila where the couple is registered.
Meanwhile, the venue of the Bea-Vincent nuptials being reported is a vineyard owned by the Cos in Spain and there are accounts that there would be two occasions to celebrate the reception, one of them in the southern part of Spain where Alonzo has bought a property.
Whichever and wherever, we wish Bea and Vincent, top honcho of Puregold, the best. (Boy Villasanta)
