Christmas is just around the corner but the joy and happiness it brings comes earlier than expected.

After six months of isolation, beauty-queen actress Azenith Briones has finally come out of the rehabilitation center she was forced to commit when her children allegedly collectively agreed to enter her into a reformatory facility due to drug addiction, an accusation she vehemently denied.

It was reported that Azenith was abducted by four men from her house in Paranaque City and brought her to Bridges of Hope (BoH) where she was confined.

Briones, in an exclusive interview, said that initially, she didn’t want to be rehabilitated because she wasn’t a drug dependent but conformed to the institution’s program just the same due to a promise of meeting with family and filial reconnection through pyscho-social sessions.

According to Azenith, it might have been a blessing in disguise that she was in BoH to dialogue with her children over domestic msunderstanding.

“At least, naliwanagan ang mga anak ko kung bakit ako istrikto at ako ang namamahala sa lahat ng mga kabuhayan namin (My children were enlightened why I am strict and disciplinarian in managing our properties),” said the beauty queen who won Muyta ng Pilipinas Miss Photogenic in 1975 and launched to stardom via “Omeng Satanasia” opposite the late King of Comedy Dolphy.

It was reported that Azenith’s children wanted their respective inheritances be distributed to them this early.

“Ba’t ko naman ibibigay sa kanila ngayon ‘yong mga mana nila, e, kung maubos nila ‘yon, e, di, sa akin din sila aasa (Why do I have to give them their inheritance? What if they go spendthrift and bereft of everything, they would still bank on me, right?),” she categorically asked.

“Dapat, magpasalamat pa sila. Hindi ‘yong wala na silang respero sa akin. Ako ang kanilang ina, dapat mahalin nila ako dahil.mahal ko sila kaya istriko ako (They should be thankful not unrespectful. I am their mom, they should love and care for me that’s why I am strict with them),” gushed Azenith.

“Ngayon, masaya ang Pasko ko. Nagkaliwanagan na kami ng mga anak ko (I am happy this Christmas. My children and I have talked thoughtfully and reconciled),” smiled the actress-beauty queen.
