Benilde offers musical composition, audio, and performance courses

Aspiring musicians, record producers, and sound designers and engineers may pursue specialized tracks in composition, audio, and performance at the revamped Music Production Program of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) School of Arts, Culture, and Performance.

Enrollees are mentored to become innovative and highly adaptive, capable to blend human ingenuity and technology as they unlock a realm of enhanced creativity, sonic exploration, and profound understanding of the field.

They are likewise trained to become jingle writers, songwriters, session or electric musicians, recording artists, and live performers.

The Composition Track includes a strong focus on music theory, music technology, and composition techniques. It provides learners with a deeper discernment of the elements of the discipline and equips them with the knowledge and skillsets to write and arrange compelling pieces in diverse genres.

Designed to arm students with the creative and technical competencies required for working in music production, post-production, and sound engineering, the Audio Track centers on audio recording and editing, mixing and mastering sound design, live sound reinforcement, and industry-standard software usage.

Those who wish to share their talent as singers or musicians can nurture their talent under the Performance Track. This strand not only hones their abilities in diverse genres but also furnishes them with key insights on management to guide them on the business of the field.

They have access to state-of-the-art facilities complete with industry-grade equipment and technology and are guided by a roster of industry experts, seasoned academicians, and practitioners.

The program emphasizes the importance of practical experience through hands-on projects and immersive learning opportunities for real-world applications. Collaboration is fostered and the young artists are engaged to showcase their works and develop their respective portfolios.

Graduates may pursue careers as composers, music arrangers, sound designers, music directors, recording and live sound engineers, record producers, music scorers, audio post-production, music administrators, entrepreneurs, and instructors.

Recently, Benilde Music Production received certification from the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) in recognition of its standards comparable to international programs. This achievement highlighted not only the quality of the curriculum but likewise reinforced the college’s commitment to provide exceptional education for aspiring music artists and producers.
