BJMP locks Quiboloy back to Pasig jail

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) confirmed recently that Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy has been transferred back to Pasig City Jail following weeks of hospitalization due to pneumonia.

BJMP spokesperson Jail Supt. Jayrex Bustinera said the televangelist was initially taken to the Rizal Memorial Center (RMC) on Jan. 18 after experiencing shortness of breath.

He was later moved to The Medical City in Ortigas for further treatment before being transferred to Pasig City General Hospital (PCGH) upon the order of the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 159.

At PCGH, doctors diagnosed him with moderate-risk, community-acquired pneumonia and stage 2 hypertension.

While under confinement, the court granted Quiboloy permission on Feb. 7 to record a video for his senatorial campaign.

Quiboloy remains detained on a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge and is also accused of child and sexual abuse, along with five of his aides.

Authorities arrested him in September last year at his church compound in Davao City after an extensive two-week operation.
