The Evo Mile Innovation of the Tiongson family opened the BYD Chinatown, the very first car dealership in the oldest Chinese district in the world, last March 6 at the corner of Juan Luna St. and Plaza San Lorenzo Ruiz.
The launch saw a grand parade of the traditional lion dances and showering of good lucks items all over the place that was attended by several personalities.
ACMobility chief executive officer Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala expressed his gratitude to the Tionson family for putting up the very first BYD dealership at the heart of the bustling Chinatown district. “This showroom will provide a comprehensive electric vehicle experience to a very wide audience. We have already brought here the vehicles and the mobility solutions of the future. This BYD Chinatown will give them the very close look at these amazing products that are already lording it all over the world,” Jaime said.
For his part, Paul Angelo Tionson, the president of Evo Mile, said the BYD Chinatown takes pride in opening up a new frontier for the vehicles of the future. “This is the first of our several future ventures into the EV market and we hope that this showroom will serve the needs of the people who all want a greener future through the use of new energy vehicles.”
Manila mayour Honey Lacuna and her administrator Bernie Ang were present during the affair together with other BYD officials led by managing director Bob Palanca, partner bank officials, and members of the media.
The new venue is just right in front of the San Lorenzo Ruiz Binondo Church and the very first car dealership to be put up in the considered oldest Chinatown district in world. A dragon dance were performed was performed right after dedication rites performed by a priest and the cutting of ribbon.
