Character actress Vangie Labalan dies in Australia

On social media, it was filmmaker Jose Javier Reyes, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) who broke the news of the demise of character actress Vangie Labalan.

Later, it was confirmed by her son Carlo Labalan.

Here’s Carlo’s account on the death of her mom:

“With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Vangie Labalan (Ma. Christina Bonghanoy Labalan). She passed away today in Australia due to illness, surrounded by those dearest and nearest to her heart. Her memories will forever remain in our hearts.

“To everyone who knew her, love her, and was touched by her kindness, we extend our deepest gratitude. She is deeply loved and will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

“She will be coming home soon. Further details regarding her wake and funeral services will be shared in the coming days.

“Thank you for your prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.”

As of the moment, there are no details yet of the funeral wake.
