Ciap to open service window in Leyte

The Construction Industry Au­thority of the Philippines (Ciap), in collaboration with the DTI Regional Operations Group (DTI-ROG), will open its 8th service window in the DTI Re­gional Office (RO) located in Palo, Leyte to serve the Eastern Visayas region.

The Ciap, as the central au­thority of the construction in­dustry, will be launching the ser­vice window on March 20, 2017 at the Ironwood Hotel, Tacloban City, Leyte. The unveiling will be spearheaded by Atty. Ruth B. Castelo, Undersecretary for Ciap and Cynthia R. Nierras, DTI Re­gional Director of RO VIII.

The Ciap Window aims to enhance the delivery and access of Ciap services in the DTI Re­gional Office. Among the ser­vices that contractors may avail are the prescreening and evalu­ation of applications for Catego­ries “A” down to “Trade/E” un­der Contractors Licensing and Registration Program; accep­tance of construction contract claims/disputes for arbitration and other pleadings for ongoing arbitration cases before CIAC, logistic support/coordination for hearings/meetings, orientation on mediation for small claims under Contract Dispute Reso­lution Program; and informa­tion dissemination of CMDF online training application and promotion of manpower train­ings and seminars under Con­struction Manpower Develop­ment Program.

The Ciap is an attached agency of DTI which acceler­ates, promotes and regulates the growth of the construction industry.

Ciap has five imple­menting boards namely; the Philippine Contractors Ac­creditation Board (PCAB), the Philippine Overseas Con­struction Board (POCB), the Philippine Domestic Con­struction Board (PDCB), the Construction Industry Arbi­tration Commission (CIAC), and the Construction Man­power Development Founda­tion (CMDF).
