The Truck Manufacturers Association, Inc. was formally recognized by the Environmental Management Bureau of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources as one of its valued partners in advancing environmental sustainability.
During the 2026 EMB Recognition of Partners in Environmental Sustainability Ceremony late last month, the TMA received the “Gawad Kabalikat sa Kapaligiran,” which highlights the association’s continued collaboration with government in promoting responsible industry practices and supporting national environmental objectives
The award acknowledges TMA’s active role in supporting environmental compliance within the truck manufacturing sector and its participation in initiatives that contribute to sustainable industrial development. Through close coordination with government agencies and industry stakeholders, TMA continues to advocate for responsible vehicle technologies, regulatory alignment, and programs that advance cleaner and more efficient transport solutions in the Philippines.
“We are deeply honored to be recognized by the DENR-EMB as a valued partner in environmental sustainability. Our member companies remain fully compliant with government environmental regulations and are committed to promoting cleaner transport solutions, enhancing road safety, and supporting policies that lead to a more sustainable transportation sector. As we move ahead, TMA remains committed to continue close collaboration with government and stakeholders to build an industry that drives economic growth while protecting our environment for future generations,” said TMA President Robert Carlos. Carlos was accompanied by Mitsubishi official Atty. Victor Vinarao, who is also a member of the TMA.
TMA further emphasized that the commercial vehicle sector plays a critical role in economic development while also recognizing its responsibility to contribute to environmental protection. Through the integration of advanced safety technologies, improved fuel efficiency, and evolving greener transport innovations, the association supports the country’s broader goals of sustainable mobility and environmental stewardship.
The “Gawad Kabalikat sa Kapaligiran” recognition further highlights the importance of strong public-private partnerships in addressing complex environmental challenges. Through this recognition, TMA reaffirmed its commitment to continued cooperation with DENR-EMB and other government agencies in fostering responsible industry growth that balances economic progress with environmental protection.
