DFA opens ‘ease of doing business’ lane at Aseana office

To support efforts in streamlining government services, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has launched a dedicated “ease of doing business” (EODB) lane at its main office in Aseana City, Parañaque. The initiative aims to provide quicker access to passport and consular services for eligible individuals.

The move coincides with the observance of Ease of Doing Business Month this May, as declared under Presidential Proclamation No. 818. The special lane is designed to assist senior citizens, persons with disabilities, pregnant women, minors, overseas Filipinos, individuals with emergency or exceptional cases, and Muslim-Filipinos preparing to participate in the Hajj pilgrimage this June to July.

According to the DFA-Office of Consular Affairs, the EODB Lane is being implemented as part of its Passport Courtesy Lane and will run from May 21 to 30.

The month-long Ease of Doing Business celebration seeks to promote awareness and drive reforms that simplify and improve interactions between the public and government offices. It also encourages collaboration between the public and private sectors to create a more efficient business environment.

This initiative is in line with Republic Act 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018, which mandates the streamlining, standardization, and automation of government processes to ensure faster and more effective delivery of public services.
