The Department of Transportation (DOTr) revealed plans to construct two railway lines in the Visayas region.
DOTr is now accepting bids for consultancy contracts – with a value of ₱157.20 million – for the feasibility studies of the Samar-Leyte Railway and the Panay Railway.
The projects form part of the government’s expansion of the country’s transport infrastructure.
DOTr said the consultancy service contract should be completed within 365 calendar days or 12 months from the notice to proceed
Meanwhile, the agency also announced plans major transport projects in Luzon, Bohol and Mindanao.
It will soon bid out consulting services for the Metro Laoag and Metro La Union Pre-Investment Study (valued at ₱102.94 million) and the Metro Cagayan de Oro, Metro Zamboanga and Bohol Public Transport Pre-Investment Study (valued at ₱183.1 million).
