FECP is Guiness’ ‘Largest Ensemble of Car Horns’ World Record

The Guinness Book of World Records on the “Largest Ensemble of Car Horns” is now being held by a Philippine car club after it broke the former record last Sunday (Aug. 27) under the watchful eyes of a Japanese adjudicator sent by the world organization to witness the event.

A total of 1,077 mid-size sport utility vehicles under the Ford Everest Club Philippines (FECP) gathered at New Clark City Aquatics Center in Capas, Tarlac and simultaneously honked their horns to the tune of “Philippine Jeepney/Let’s Go” for one minute and 6 seconds (00:01:06).

FECP is the largest and most active car club among local Ford vehicle enthusiasts with 15,000 active members. They broke the 10-year-old record that was held by MINI of Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA where 400 MINI cars tooted the Deep Purple song “Smoke on the Water” simultaneously on Aug. 3, 2013.

FECP founder Jay Cruz and FECP president Glenn Manikis both proudly stated that they are confident the new world record, which is almost three times the number of the previous record holder, will be hard to beat. After setting the new world record, the participating club members formed a convoy of around 10 kilometers long and headed to Subic Bay.

FECP administrator Norie Gotis said that the long convoy, which could be another world record in itself, is a club tradition every time they have an “eyeball” or club meet. Upon reaching Subic Bay, they parked at the grounds of the Subic Bay International Airport where an estimated crowd of 5,000 members and their families, organizers, sponsors and spectators gathered to witness the awarding of the World Record Certificate from the Guinness World Records adjudicator.

Also around were Ford Philippines president Mike Breen and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority chairman and administrator Jonathan Tan who joined the FECP officers in receiving the world record certificate. “Ford Everest Club Philippines not only created an awe-inspiring symphony of horns but also brought excitement along with the unique experience that came with it. Along with our locators and establishments at Subic Bay I am thrilled and delighted to have witnessed and become a part of this record-setting event,” said SBMA’s Tan.

As part of their 6th anniversary celebration, FECP raffled off a brand-new 2023 Ford Everest that was won by Almer Balayan and thanked the generous support of Motul Philippines, Bybit Crypto Currency Exchange, Ford Group Philippines, Laus Auto Group, North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), PAPH Travel & Tours, MN Geotechnical Trading, Inc., Standard Insurance, RMBP, MySip Energy Drink, New Clark City, Clark Development Corporation (CDC), Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), RCBC Bank, and Eastwest Bank for their generous support.

They also acknowledged the valuable support of their media partners ABS-CBN, ANC, GMA, TV5, Net 25, DZEC Radio Agila 1062 kHz, LiveU, Business Mirror, Malaya, Manila Standard, The Market Monitor, Auto Review, AutoIndustriya.Com, Auto Haven, Motourismo, Monchter Chronicles, Power Wheels Magazine, Turbo Time, Targa Pilipinas, 2NER, and NewsMoto.
