Hodge fined 100k, suspended 1 game, Magnolia asst. coach Jose also penalized

MERALCO’s Cliff Hodge was fined P100,000 and suspended for one game by the PBA Commissioner’s Office on Friday.

The PBA Commissioner’s Office also slapped Magnolia assistant coach Mon Jose with a P20,000 fine and also a one game suspension for head butting Hodge.

The penalties were meted in the aftermath of Wednesday’s game that saw Hodge taking down Magnolia’s Zavier Lucero late in the fourth quarter of the Bolts-Hotshots encounter.

Hodge and Jose appeared before PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial to give their side on the incident that marred the game won by Magnolia.

Marcial advised both Hodge and Jose to learn to control their emotions. He warned them and said that a repetition of the incident will be dealt with severely.

Hodge maintained that he had no intention to hurt Lucero.

Hodge’s flagrant foul happened with 2:16 left in the fourth quarter and Magnolia ahead, 117-92.
