Huawei forges partnership with PBA

Huawei Technologies Philippines Inc. (HTPI), led by Vice President for Sales, Bruce Liu, recently signed an agreement with the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) to launch a Premium Android Game Club dubbed GamePad and be one of the sponsors for the Commissioner’s Cup and Governors’ Cup.

According to Liu, they decided to link up with the PBA after realizing the immense popularity that basketball enjoys in the country. “The Philippines’ No. 1 sport is basketball and we are very happy to partner with the PBA for the launching of GamePad. We are encouraging all basketball fans to try the Games and join the Game Club to win exciting prizes,” he said.

GamePad is the newest online gaming portal in the Philippines. Through the GamePad service, one can download more than 300 premium Android games from www.gamepad.ph for as low as P5 per day.

To date, GamePad is reputed to be the most successful game club in the country with over 4 million monthly subscribers. All the games have been localized to suit the Filipino taste in terms of language, game play and design. To subscribe, just text GD ON to 2151 and enjoy a three-day free trial.

“By joining efforts with the PBA, we believe GamePad can hit a new milestone in reaching out to Filipino users from all walks of life. It also aims to bring excitement to all PBA fans by running a regular promo where they can win free tickets to the PBA games,” said Ken Liang, head of the hosting department of HTPI.

For a limited time, PBA fans watching the games live can avail themselves of the trial in the GamePad booth.
