Television host Iya Villania, who is scheduled to give birth to her first child—a boy—with TV host-husband Drew Arellano in a few months, has advised expectant mothers like her to keep themselves fit and avoid negative people.
In a brief interview with the Philippines News Agency, Iya admitted that she still has so much to learn about her current state. She noted, however, that getting fit before her pregnancy helped her immensely.
The star, who hosts the “Chika Minute” entertainment segment of the GMA nighttime news program 24 Oras (24 Hours) and co-hosts Lip Sync Battle Philippines with ace comedian Michael V., has always been into fitness, even before she became pregnant.
While staying fit is almost considered a requirement for every celebrity, Iya believes that exercising or performing fitness routines brings benefits that will be helpful to women during childbirth.
Expectant women often seem to be dealing with some challenge that’s connected with their pregnancy, and Iya admitted that she’s no exception.
She said a challenge for her are the so-called negatrons—a play on the name of Transformers archvillain Megatron that’s used to describe negative people.
The TV host emphasized, however, that there are also those who bring positivity to her life.
“I just get the [positive] energy from them,” Iya said.
She doesn’t know yet if she would want her baby, whom she calls bugoy, to be in showbusiness like his parents.
“Malalaman natin sa tamang panahon [We’ll find out in due time],” Iya said.
Once she give birth, Iya said she will try to be the best mother that she can be, and remain a good wife to her husband.
“I heard that when a woman gives birth, she tends to forget or ignore her husband. I hope not to be like that with Drew,” she said. PNA
