Winning in a contest has other purposes aside from tenacity and survival.
Actress Kim Chiu has shown and defined the dimension of victory after she and her team won the grand championship of the “Magpasikat 2024” game on television.
After winning the grand championship, Kim, together with teammates Ogie Alcasid, Lassy and MC, managed to channel their energy to philanthropy.
While Chiu was happy and proud to win the game with her acrobatic stunt like a flying trapeze, she was disturbed by what the horrendous effects of Typhoon Kristine had in practically all regions of the country.
Kim readily decided to help the victims of the typhoon through her coordination and benefaction for the Angat Buhay Foundation of former vice president Leni Robredo.
In the spirit of altruism, Kim, Ogie, Lassy and MC held hand-in-hand in donating the three-hundred-thousand-peso (P300,000.00) cash prize they got from the contest.
Meanwhile, in her moments of triumph, Chiu personally expressed her thoughts and feelings in her Instagram post:
“Woke up today feeling extra grateful. My heart is so full of gratitude, and I find myself at a loss for words to truly express how thankful I am.
“This journey has been one of the most unforgettable and meaningful experiences I encountered, and it would never have been possible without each and every one of you. To my incredible team-thank you for your relentless dedication, passion, and resilience.
“Every challenge, every breakthrough was shared together, and it is those moments that made this experience so special.
“I am beyond grateful for the laughter, the strength, and the endless support we gave each other. Together, we created something so much bigger than any one of us—a story and a message that will live on in the hearts of those it touches.
“To everyone who believed, contributed, and encouraged us along the way, thank you. This victory is as much yours as it is ours, and I am honored to have shared it with such amazing people. Thank you, from the depths of my heart, for making this #Magpasikat 2024 an unforgettable one,” noted the so-called Chinita Princess.
Angat Buhay Foundation has been giving relief efforts to victims of Typhoon Kristine like the Bicol Region.
