IN support of this year’s Brigada Eskwela and the reopening of schools for S.Y. 2026-2027, Manila Water Non-East Zone subsidiary Laguna Water donated refrigerated drinking fountains (RDFs) to six public schools in the municipality of Biñan, Laguna.
This is part of the Lingap Laguna project, which aims to provide access to clean and potable water in public spaces.
In partnership with the Provincial Government of Laguna and the Manila Water Foundation, these schools each received one unit of RDF: Biñan Secondary School of Applied Academics, Canlalay Elementary School, Platero Elementary School, Mamplasan Elementary School, Tomas A. Turalba Memorial Elementary School, and Loma Elementary School.
The schools were selected in collaboration with the local government of the City of Biñan, led by the Mayor’s Office and the Human Settlement and Livelihood Office.
Along with the signing of the agreement for the project, the RDF units were formally turned over to the schools in the presence of the Department of Education City Schools Division of Biñan and Board Member Flaviano “Jigcy” Pecaña.
“The nutrition of children must be well taken care of so they can learn effectively. Likewise, in a tropical country where the heat index can be severe, hydration must truly be a top priority. This donation from Laguna Water to the six selected schools is a very meaningful blessing—symbolic, long-term, and something that will contribute to the learning of the children [translated],” shared Dr. Arlene Ricasata, OIC – Schools Division Superintendent of Biñan.
