LANDBANK strengthens financing support for Cebu businesses

The Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) has stepped up its partnerships with key businesses and producers in Cebu to expand financing access and banking services for industries driving economic growth across the Visayas.

During engagements on Oct. 1 and 2, the state-owned bank met with representatives from the cooperative, logistics, shipping and fisheries sectors to discuss financing opportunities and banking solutions tailored to their needs.

“Cebu’s strength lies in the enterprises, cooperatives, and producers whose hard work sustains livelihoods, connects communities, and helps secure the country’s food supply,” LANDBANK President and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz said.

One of the meetings involved Cebu CFI Community Cooperative, among the country’s largest cooperatives. Discussions focused on growth plans and wider use of the bank’s digital banking, collection, payment and cash management services.

LANDBANK also explored financing and transaction banking solutions with the Top Line Group to support its expanding fuel distribution, logistics and port operations.

The bank discussed fleet expansion financing and other banking services with the Lite Group of Companies, a major inter-island shipping operator serving routes across the Visayas, Mindanao and Southern Luzon.

In the fisheries sector, LANDBANK met with Teodulo C. Llego, a recipient of the 2026 Ulirang Mangingisda award, to explore ways to expand sustainable aquaculture operations. Llego has developed an aquaculture enterprise in Ronda, Cebu that provides jobs and livelihood opportunities for residents.

Through these partnerships, LANDBANK aims to help businesses expand, strengthen supply chains, support local food production and create more economic opportunities across Cebu and the wider Visayas.
