Li Auto : Comfort is name of the game

Being comfortable inside vehicle is the No. 1 priority of those buyers who would want the best for their family. As long as their loved ones are comfortable inside the vehicle especially on a long travel, the price is just secondary matter to consider.

And if I am now considering to buy one without any consideration on the price, I would definitely pick the Li Mega on top of my list. That’s because I am one of those very impressed group of media personalities who got the privilege, not to drive, but experience the full comfort aboard one such magnificent vehicle.

It was a media test drive, but far from the regular one where you took turns in driving the vehicle from the meeting place up to the designated destination and back. Li Auto Philippines officials, led by Stone Yu (CEO of HomeAuto Inc., the operator of the first Li Auto showroom in the Philippines in BGC Taguig City) and COO Solomon Gao, totally enhanced the meaning of a “test drive” as the participants got to experience how it was to be a “family member” onboard the three featured Li Auto vehicles in the event – the superstar Li Mega, the Li 9, and the Li 7 – one after the other.

The Li Mega was simply spectacular to me as I really experienced all the comfort and luxury it has while sitting on its spacious “captain seat” for more than 2 hours going into our final destination which is the Nawa Wellness Resort in Calatagan. After arriving well-rested and still refreshed, I had proven that the Li Mega is more than a vehicle, but a moving sanctuary offering for a family.

The Mega, an all-electric multi-purpose vehicle has a state-of-the-art exterior design that can be likened to a bullet train complete with all the comfort and never-ending surprises inside and out.

The Mega is built on an all-new electric platform featuring an 800-volt electric architecture which not only contributes to charging speed but also overall energy efficiency and performance. It uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup that puts down 536 hp (400 kW) and 542 lb-ft of torque, launching the nearly three-ton vehicle from 0-62 mph in just 5.5 seconds.

The adaptive “magic carpet ride” air suspension system (they said it was an American-made Monroe suspension) with continuous damping control and cameras monitoring the road ahead for bumps simply keeps you very comfortable while the sound-deadening materials all around the double-glazed windows keep the interior very quiet. The family members may also choose to tinker the various amenities inside the vehicle – all three rows offer heated seats, while the first and second rows get ventilation and massage functions; a panoramic roof, ambient lighting, and high-grade materials—including microsuede, real wood, and vegan leather; two massive 15.7-inch TVs are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip while rear passengers get a roof-mounted 17-inch screen purely for entertainment and an optional 21-speaker Dolby Atmos audio system ensures that everyone gets a first-class listening experience, among others. Go karaoke if you want.

The Li Mega has two current variants – the Mega Ultra at P5.99-million and the Mega Comfort (which we experienced to the max!) at P6.5-million. Oh yes, there are two others we got to experience riding on and these are the L9 which sells for P5.5-million and the L7 that goes for P4.5-million. We’ll give the other details on these two later on.

The whole event was such a big success as it went so smoothly and it being the first for Li Auto’s very first on-the-road event. Kudos to CJ Pantoja (marketing manager) and Patch Laubenia (PR manager) who were among the Li Auto officers who also managed the whole event. – Andy Sevilla
