Lorenzo: Outstanding ERJHS alumni lead by example

THE E. Rodriguez Jr. High School can always take pride in having produced outstanding alumni who have not only excelled with their professional achievements but in putting service to God and the people as their top priorities.

This as stressed by NCAA Management Committee official and Emilio Aguinaldo College vice president Dr. Lorenzo Lorenzo in his acceptance speech during the ERJHS 74th Foundation Day and Awarding of 10 “Most Outstanding Alumni” for 2026 at the ERJHS along Mayon Ave., Quezon City.

“To me, the greatest measure of service is to serve without measure,” said Lorenzo on behalf of all 10 outstanding alumni carefully chosen by a seven-man panel of judges that included veteran journalist Nestor Cuartero of the Manila Bulletin/Market Monitor.

“Lahat ng taga E. Rodriguez, pag-dating sa serbisyo hindi mo kayang tawaran. Ang pagse-serbiyo na hindi naghihintay ng kapalit. To me, this is ERJHS: Emphatic, Resilient, Just and Humane, Humble and Service-Oriented,” added Lorenzo, a member of Batch 1987.

“Being outstanding is not just about professional milestone or economic status in life.We became outstanding because we treated our profession not just as mere profession but more as a calling and a mission to serve other people.”

The other outstanding ERJHS alumni for 2026 are  Elmer Hernandez (Batch 65),  Patria Cabatuando-Rivera (Batch 66), the late Atty. Moises Samson (Batch 70),  Joselito Caleon (Batch 73), Dra. Esperanza Oblena-Cayanan (Batch 75), Maria Teresa Vallester-Montalbo (Batch 77), Angelo Young (Batch 80), Dante Sauquillo (Batch 82). and Dr.  John Wnston Gonzales (Batch 84).

ERJHS Alumni Association president Ramon Ferreros  awarded the trophies, assisted by Principal Ernest Ferrer, vice president Zeny Castor, secretary Ed Andaya and  Kat Almero of I-Skin Aesthetic Lifestyle.

ERJHS 2025 Outstanding Alumni awardee Atty. Med Castillon delivered the inspirational remarks.

The award-winning ERJHS Choir under Prof. Jonathan Vinluan and the ERJHS Batch 84 Flash Movers and Forever Young provided the  intermission numbers.

Master of ceremonies  were Ramon Ypil and Jerold Cabus.
