Renewing your driver’s license is now faster, easier, and entirely online—no need to visit the LTO office or fall prey to fixers.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO), in partnership with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), has officially launched the Online Driver’s License Renewal System (ODLRS) through the eGovPH mobile app.
Unveiled Thursday at the LTO Central Office, the new system is part of the government’s push to streamline and digitize public services under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive.
“Hindi ka na kailangan pumunta sa LTO. Hindi ka na mabibiktima ng fixers,” said DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon, emphasizing the convenience and safety of going fully digital.
According to LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II, the platform aims to make all LTO transactions “fast and comfortable,” even for Filipinos living abroad.
To use the service, motorists must install the eGovPH app on their smartphone and complete the verification process. From there, users can navigate to the LTO section within the app, select the online driver’s license renewal option, and follow the guided steps. This includes uploading a photo of their license (front and back), verifying their details, and taking a compliant ID photo.
Applicants must also secure a medical examination, which can be done online through a telemedicine appointment, and complete the mandatory Driver’s Enhancement Program (DEP) via the ODLRS portal. Both certifications must be uploaded before proceeding with the renewal.
Payments are accepted through the app, and once the process is complete, an electronic copy of the renewed license will appear in the user’s eGovPH account. Drivers may then opt to have the physical license card delivered to their preferred address or pick it up at the nearest LTO office.
“This is just the beginning,” Mendoza said. “We’re fully committed to enhancing our digital services and making them accessible to every Filipino, wherever they may be.”
