Manila Water releases desludging service schedule for August

There are many ways we can take care of our septic tanks at home. One of which is availing of the desludging services offered by Manila Water at no additional cost.

Manila Water underscores the importance of regular desludging to maintain the efficiency of the waste management system at home. As a septic tank’s primary function is to collect household wastewater, neglecting regular septic tank maintenance can cause serious problems.

“Septic tanks are a vital part of our homes but often overlooked. The accumulation of waste can hinder proper functioning and cause sewage backups or overflows. Overflows can result to untreated sewage to pollute nearby soil, groundwater and water bodies, disrupting ecosystems and marine life. Dirt, viruses and bacteria from the sludge can also pose risks in human health,” says Jeric Sevilla, Manila Water Corporate Communication Affairs Group Director.

Every month, Manila Water’s desludging caravan goes around barangays in the East Zone to siphon household septic tanks of its customers.

In August, the Company’s desludging caravan will be present in Barangay 763, 768, 771, 779, 784, 786, 787, 788, 789, 794, 797, 800, 801, 802, 805, 807, 809, 811, 812 and 814 in the City of Manila; Barangay Pag-asa, Harapin ang Bukas, Mauway and Hagdang Bato Libis in Mandaluyong City; Barangay Ugong Norte, Bagong Lipunan ng Crame, Pinyahan, Bahay Toro, Botocan, White Plains, Amihan and Old Capitol Site in Quezon City; Maybunga, San Nicolas and Manggahan in Pasig City; Barangay North Signal in Taguig City; and Barangay Sta. Lucia in San Juan City.

Manila Water customers in Barangay San Jose, San Roque, and Cupang in Antipolo City; Barangay Maly and Malanday in the municipality of San Mateo; Barangay Burgos and San Jose in Montalban; Barangay San Juan in Taytay; and Barangay San Carlos in Binangonan, all in the Province of Rizal, can also avail the desludging service.

To know the exact schedule of the desludging caravan’s visit, customers can call the Manila Water Customer Service Hotline 1627 or coordinate with their respective barangay councils.
