Marissa del Mar: All her sacrifices pay off

She was dubbed as one of the TH stars in the early 1980s by entertainment writer Mario E. Bautista.

TH as in Trying Hard.

It was a moniker not necessarily derogatory but replete with wittiness and defiance. It carried with it an optimistic tone to succeed against all odds.

Marissa del Mar might be sidetracked most of the time in her early days in showbiz but she was brave enough to withstand all the challenges that came her way as a newbie in the biz.

In the end, she persevered and passed all acids tests with flying colors.

After starring in supporting roles on the big and small screens, she was given a chance to prove her worth as a lead actress in a solo movie.

Eventually, there was no turning back. All her sacrifices paid off.

She was also making hay in TV productions and as a host of shows like “Up Close and Personal with Marissa del Mar” which lasted for years and later, of a show on OFW where she focused her advocacy.

Now, Marissa is a seasoned actress and a businesswoman who supports the causes of migrant workers as she runs for the party-list OFW.
