After his controversial love affair with actress Jennica Garcia—the daughter of versatile thespian Jean Garcia and actor-politician Jigo Garcia—matinee idol Martin Escudero’s romance was far and between.
“Matagal na po ‘yon (That was already a long time ago),” Martin recently respectfully confirmed in our exclusive interview with him in “Boy V’s Corner” in OpinYon Facebook Live.
Escudero’s relationship with Jennica was indeed ages as the actress is already married to actor Alwyn Uytingco and they have kids now.
It seems Martin’s discretion about his private life is paying off because he doesn’t entangle in controversies. “Mas mabuti na po ‘yon. As a person po, masyado akong private (That’s better. As a person I am very private),” he claimed.
But the actor who plays the late iconic singer Victor Wood in the biopic “Jukebox King: The Life Story of Victor Wood” from EBC Films with Carlo Ortega Cuevas at the helm volunteered that he is currently in a relationship.
“Hindi po siya taga-showbiz. Mas gusto ko po ‘yong gano’n (She’s not from showbiz. I prefer it that way),” stressed the secretive young actor.
Being a member of the religious sect Iglesia ni Cristo (INC), Martin clarified that he doesn’t want to comment on my probing if he wants his girlfriend or someone he would marry to share his religious belief. “Wala naman pong gano’n. Hayaan na lang po muna natin na basta mangyari na lang ang mangyayari (There’s nothing like that. Let’s just let things evolve),” Escudero opined.
