Members of Masculados lament over Mahal’s passing

Diminutive star Mahal’s death was indeed shocking news in the entertainment scene of late.

Every showbiz denizen in town was mourning the early demise of Mahal—Noemi Tesorero in real life—whom they considered not only a colleague and a friend but most of all, a joy and bearer of happiness because of her lively presence and attitude despite her size.

Rosanna Roces, Billy Crawford, Angel Locsin, Kiray Celis, Benjamin Alves, Ai Ai de las Alas, Janice de Belen, Inday Garutay, among many other, have expressed their grief and sadness over the passing of the midget star.

Even Mahal’s ex-husband Jobbie Hebrio had noted in his social media posts his short but meaningful eulogy to his former wife.

You might not be aware of it, but the all-sexy male group Masculados had also wonderful and memorable moments with Mahal so they were dismayed when she passed on.

Lukas Avid, even if he was a latecomer to the group felt forlorn when he heard Mahal’s passing. “Kababayan ko siya bukod pa sa close siya sa Masculados. Pareho kaming taga-Catanduanes kaya malapit kasi sa isa’t isa (She was a town mate aside from her closeness to Masculados. We’re both from Catanduanes so we were close to each other),” exclaimed Lukas in his online message.

But Omar Principe, one of the lead stars of Masculados was the most affected member of the group upon learning Mahal’s death.

During the height of the popularity of Masculados, Mahal was always running around with Omar and some of his fellow members. “Parang kelan lang, sampung taon na ang nakakaraan. Lagi kaming magkakasama nina Mahal sa maraming lakaran (Was it only yesterday, ten years ago. We were always together in many activities),” said Principe.

It was in San Pedro City in Laguna Province where Omar and some members of Masculados would spend many times together as friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

“Yes, sobrang sad po. Hindi ko inaasahan po gawa nang napakalakas niya at biglaan na lang siya nagpahinga (Too sad. I didn’t expect her passing because she was very strong and her eternal rest was sudden).

Just the same, I am thankful I got to be with her and we were good friends. I am extending my sympathies to her family and loved ones).

I am also appealing to my fellow actors in the industry to take care as well as you, many thanks,” gushed Omar.

Mahal’s remains were cremated in Batangas and had to be handed down to her sister Irene Tesorero. Her ashes were kept vigil for two days at the Cosmopolitan Chapel of the Sanctuario de San Vicente de Paul and Shrine in Tandang Sora in Quezon City.

Mahal died of digestive dysfunction with COVID-19 complications.

She was 46.
