MIND Act deliberations underway

The Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Sen. Risa Hontiveros, began deliberations on the proposed Master Plan on Infrastructure and National Development Act (MIND Act) last week.

Senators noted that the government’s approach to infrastructure projects and programs is fragmented, politically motivated, and lacking the long-term vision necessary for genuine national progress. They believe that the measure would ensure efficient use of public resources by aligning the national budget with actual community needs rather than political whims.

Resource persons from government agencies, regulators, and the private sector joined the hearing to weigh in on the proposed measure, which is expected to stimulate economic growth and improve public services through strategic, data-driven investments.
