The Metro Manila Development Authority said it would provide free rides for commuters if necessary as it cracked down on smoke-belching and ill-quipped public utility vehicles.
Four buses and three shuttles will be deployed to make up for jeeps and public utility vehicles that may be suspended, MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago said.
“Just in case, kung kakailanganin po nila nandito po ang MMDA para magbigay ng libreng sakay,” she added.
An inter-agency body overseeing traffic management in the capital will determine when to deploy the MMDA vehicles, she said.
