NBI seizes suspected ecstasy shipment from France at Clark Freeport

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Thursday intercepted a shipment containing suspected ecstasy tablets from France during a drug interdiction operation in Pampanga.

In a statement, the NBI said operatives from its Pampanga District Office (PAMDO), in coordination with the Inter-Agency Task Force Against Illegal Drugs, confiscated the illegal cargo at the UPS Warehouse in the Clark Freeport Zone, Mabalacat City.

The operation was launched after a medium-sized brown box—declared as animal food—was flagged for inspection at the Clark International Airport.

Upon opening, authorities found four vacuum-sealed transparent plastic packs containing suspected ecstasy tablets, a known recreational hallucinogen.

The package originated from UPS France, 460 Rue Du Valibout Plaisir, and was consigned to a certain Jerico Gregorio Causon of Quezon Street, Barangay San Miguel, Taguig City.

Inventory and documentation of the seized items are ongoing, the NBI added.
