New Clark City welcomes 2nd industrial park developer

The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has lured its second industrial park developer for New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac.

In a statement released Thursday, BCDA announced that Science Park of the Philippines, Inc. (SPPI) has been awarded a 50-year lease contract to develop a 100-hectare industrial park within the New Clark City.

The project, which is estimated to involve a P30 billion investment, aims to accommodate industries such as food production, textiles, automotive parts, electric vehicles, semiconductors, and data centers.

The development is expected to create 30,000 new jobs, BCDA said.

Joshua Bingcang, BCDA president and CEO, emphasized that the collaboration’s primary objective is to generate employment and stimulate the local economy. “Through this industrial park, we aim to provide job opportunities not just in construction and manufacturing, but across a wide range of sectors,” he added.

The project is also anticipated to contribute approximately P1.9 billion in income tax revenues to the national government.

SPPI’s chair, Guillermo Luchangco, highlighted the company’s role in supporting the country’s economic growth. “We are proud to be contributing to the economic development of the Philippines by developing world-class industrial estates that attract manufacturing and technology companies,” he said.

SPPI currently operates industrial parks across six premier sites in Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Central Visayas.

New Clark City’s first industrial park, Filinvest Innovation Park, is being developed by Filinvest Land, Inc.
