The Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City, is getting another facelift to make it a garden city, based on a new redevelopment plan for the business district.
The vision of J. Amado Araneta for the Araneta Center in the 1950s—to be a thriving and constantly evolving commercial and business district located in the heart of Quezon City—will come to life through the redevelopment plan, according to the master plan.
With a total size of 35 hectares, the Araneta Center is envisioned to become a garden city within a city reflecting an old world charm with modern convenience based on the plan.
A mixed-use real-estate development, the township is strategically designed to provide a seamless blend of shopping, dining, leisure, entertainment, corporate, residential and hospitality options.
Rowell Recinto, Araneta Group management consultant, said 2015 is definitely a banner year for Araneta Center.
“We are proud of our momentous improvements such as the reopening of the Kia Theater which we hope will reclaim its title as the country’s premier performing arts venue. To see local and foreign visitors enjoy the outcome of our efforts to redevelop and improve the Araneta Center fills us with joy and motivates us more to give them the best of it,” Recinto said.
The Kia Theater was reborn into a modern theater with 2,500-seat capacity and al fresco dining establishments.
The Araneta Center’s bigger and better facilities and top-notch amenities are a delight for visitors who will watch major events, such as Disney On Ice at the Big Dome, an Araneta Group statement said.
Another premier venue that is set to be the first international business and leisure hotel in Quezon City is Novotel Manila Araneta Center. Comprised of stylish guest rooms and suites, as well as a sophisticated facade, Novotel will surely allure its guests and onlookers.
“We are ecstatic to be serving our local and foreign friends here in Quezon City. With Novotel’s superb offerings, we will bring them the hospitality that Filipinos are famously known for,” shares Bernd Schneider, Novotel Manila general manager.
Aside from the Araneta Center’s major improvements this year, it still has many grand developments that will unfold in the future.
In addition to its entertainment and hospitality structures, businesses that will fulfill Araneta Center’s goal to be a one-stop world-class locale are the 18-tower Manhattan Garden City, the CyberPark Towers, Gateway Mall 2 and the Civic Plaza.
The 18-tower Manhattan Garden City already has 11 towers completed. It comprises of Manhattan Parkway, Manhattan Parkview, Manhattan Heights and Manhattan Plaza which offer residents a relaxing hub in the middle of a concrete jungle that is Metro Manila. As the first of its kind, residents will enjoy outstanding recreational amenities such as swimming pools, jogging trails, zen gardens and reflexology paths. Another addition to Manhattan Garden City’s phenomenal structures are the garden walkway which will link all the buildings and bridge-links that will connect the 18 towers to the rest of Araneta Center.
The vision to provide a haven for some of the top players in the business process outsourcing industry within the Araneta Center is fulfilled by the building of the CyberPark Towers. After its major upgrade, the CyberPark will be a business-process outsourcing (BPO) complex featuring five master planned BPO-primed and purpose-designed towers surrounding a lush, landscaped park.
Completing the 1.1 million square meters of shopping area is Gateway Mall 2. Along with the award-winning Gateway Mall, Gateway Mall 2 will offer a wide array of stores fit for every customers’ distinct taste.
Featuring a wide, outdoor concourse with greenery, the soon-to-rise 60-storey Civic Plaza will definitely be an iconic addition to Araneta Center’s redevelopment plan.
Araneta Center’s new developments and improvements reflect its entrepreneurial vision to be a thriving commercial and business district.
