The Philippine Sports Commission’s two-month long nationwide search for eight women role models in sports under the Gintong Gawad Awards 2022 will end on April 30 or two weeks before the start of the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam.
Awardees from various sectors, including the academe, will be awarded trophies and cash incentives by the PSC.
The PSC’s chairperson for Women in Sports Dr. Celia Kiram will present the awards together with PSC Chairman William “Butch” Ramirez.
The eight awards include: Ina ng Isport; Babaeng Atleta, Modelo ng Kabataan; Babaeng Atleta, Modelo ng Kabataan (PWD); Babaeng Tagasanay ng Isport; Babaeng Lider ng Isport sa Kumonidad; Kaagapay ng Isport sa Kumonidad; Natatangi at Makabagong Produktong Pang- Isport; and Proyektong Isport Pang Kababaihan.
Kiram said, “The PSC envisioned the noble project ostensibly to give due recognition to women sports leaders for their major contribution in promoting and propagating grassroots sports in their localities.”

Private entities and individuals are encouraged to search and suggest nominees and coordinate with their respective local government units. A nominee may have multiple nominators.
The PSC has the right to refuse an entry, or disqualify a nominee and the judges’ decision is deemed final.
