After her debacle in a gubernatorial bid in Camarines Sur in 2001 Superstar Nora Aunor has mustered another will to plunge into politics once more.
This time a congressional seat through the party-list scheme as Nora filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) this morning as representative of NORA (National Organization for Responsive Advocacies for the Arts).
In a press statement, Aunor introduced herself to the public as Nora Cabeltera Villamayor, popularly known as Nora Aunor in Philippine Showbiz.
“I am confirming my decision to run for public office in the 2022 elections as a party-list representative of NORA,” Guy stated in the press briefs.
According to Ate (a term of respect for an older woman by affinity or by blood) Guy, in her more than fifty years in show business, many people have been urging her to run for public service and she deemed it the right time to thrown in her hat in the political ring.
La Aunor has a four-pronged government platform, namely, promotion of the arts and artisans, enhancement of the Filipino youth and education, welfare of the elderlies and well-being of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
