PN opens new facility in KIG, PAL unveils Super Mabuhay Lounge in NAIA T1

A typhoon-resilient structure symbolizing progress and will serve as shelter for personnel and equipment on the Kalayan Island Group (KIG) was inaugurated by the Philippine Navy recently.

The formal opening of a new administrative and research facility was done during the visit of PN Chief Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr in a remote island detachment.

Adaci also visited the far-north islands of Basco and Itbayat in Batanes, Pag-asa and Kota Island in the KIG, and the Taganak Island in Tawi-Tawi.

“These island stations and detachments are key and strategic features of the Philippine territory manned by dedicated PN personnel alongside other uniformed agencies,” Adaci noted.

The PN Chief also thanked the personnel in remote island stations and boosted their morale as he expressed support for their efforts in protecting the Philippine territory and national interest.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Airlines (PAL) recently unveiled its Super Mabuhay Lounge at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1. The lounge offers passengers a space for relaxation before their departure.

The international lounge was designed by Atelier Almari and can accommodate 94 people. It has a dining area, bar, shower rooms and restrooms, massage corner, nursing area, and vaping area.

PAL said the business class passengers, Elite/Premier Elite frequent flyers, and Million Milers taking international flights may now experience the comfort and convenience of the said newly built structure.

PAL added, “Our lounge’s cozy ambiance, modern amenities, and warmth and hospitality of our lounge make waiting for one’s flight a truly delightful experience”.

PAL will also build a domestic lounge in Mactan, Cebu airport.
