The Supreme Court dismissed a petition asking to disclose President Rodrigo Duterte’s medical records, as confirmed by the High Court’s Public Information Chief Atty. Brian Keith Hosaka.
“I confirm the denial of the petition,” said Hosaka.
Atty. Dino S. De Leon filed the petition with the Supreme Court after his Freedom of Information request for access to the President’s health records was denied.
In his petition, De Leon sought disclosure of the President’s health condition after being absent in important events and failure to respond to questions “intelligibly” during media briefings.
He added the President earlier confessed he has Buerger’s disease, Barret’s esophagus, gastroesophageal reflux disease, spinal issues, daily migraines and mayastenia gravis.
De Leon said with the country facing the COVID 19 crisis, the country needs a “strong and physically fit leader”. The petition was dismissed without the President or Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea giving a response.
