Sleep scientists note that some of the body’s most essential repair work happens during rest. While we sleep, muscles recover, hormones regulate, and the immune system strengthens—quiet processes that prepare us for the day ahead. Yet despite these benefits, quality sleep remains one of the most overlooked aspects of daily wellness.
While homeowners carefully design living rooms and kitchens, the bed is often an afterthought—chosen quickly or replaced only when necessary. Experts say this oversight matters more than many realize. Mattress support and bedroom environment shape posture, relieve pressure, and determine how deeply the body relaxes—ultimately affecting how restorative sleep truly is.
For Uratex, the country’s leading mattress brand and long-time advocate of sleep wellness, that reality underscores why World Sleep Day holds even greater significance today.
This year, Uratex brought its advocacy directly to the public through the 8-Hour Movement Sleep Station—a month-long activation with SM Home at the SM Store, SM Megamall—transforming the retail space into an interactive hub for sleep education, wellness, and better bedtime habits.
“Sleep is one of the most important foundations of health, yet it’s also one of the most overlooked,” said Vanelyn Destar, Sr. Brand Marketing Executive of Uratex. “Through the 8-Hour Movement, we hope to spark a national conversation about why sleep matters—and how small lifestyle changes, combined with the right sleep environment, can dramatically improve our quality of life.”
The collaboration with SM Home reflects a shared vision: helping Filipino households create spaces that support both comfortable living and truly restful sleep. As one of the country’s most trusted home and lifestyle retailers, SM Home offers an ideal setting to connect Uratex’s sleep advocacy with consumers seeking to improve their homes and daily routines.
“SM Home has always believed that a well-designed home supports a better life,” said Christopher Ang VP Marketing of SM HOME.
