The San Miguel Beermen proved they’re not just all about basketball after lending a hand in the DWSD feeding program Walang Gutom Kitchen.
Members of the reigning PBA Philippine Cup champions personally visited the Walang Gutom Kitchen in Pasay City on Tuesday and handed out packed meals and other goodies such as t-shirts and caps.
Nine-time MVP June Mar Fajardo led the Beermen together with coach Leo Austria, team governor Robert Non, and manager Gee Abanilla.
PBA commissioner Willie Marcial also joined the Walang Gutom outreach program presented by ArenaSocial.
The project is a community-based food bank first launched in 2024 by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian that aims to provide free nutritious food and meals to the homeless.
The venture is held in celebration of San Miguel’s 31st PBA championship which the franchise won during the season-opening All-Filipino conference, and presented in partnership with the DSWD
