Two foreign nationals were arrested in a police buy-bust operation in Pasay City for allegedly selling unregistered firearms, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said Thursday.
Authorities identified the suspects as a 39-year-old Chinese national and a 33-year-old Taiwanese national. Their arrest stemmed from an intelligence report about a foreigner using the alias “Lucy” who was reportedly engaged in the illegal sale of firearms in southern Metro Manila.
Operatives seized one 9mm revolver, three live rounds of 9mm ammunition, and marked buy-bust money consisting of a genuine ₱1,000 bill mixed with boodle money. Two mobile phones and a pouch bag were also confiscated during the operation.
The PNP said an inventory of the recovered items was conducted at the scene in the presence of required witnesses, in accordance with established procedures.
The suspects were apprised of their constitutional rights in a language they understood and were assisted by an interpreter before being brought to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group for documentation and proper disposition.
The PNP reiterated that the possession, sale or transport of firearms without the necessary permits is punishable under Philippine law and urged the public to report similar illegal activities.
