For more than a couple of years, actresses of the 70s and 80s Azenith Briones and Jessica Pica had not seen each other nor talked on the phone.
But they mutually agreed that absence makes the hearts go fonder.
“Kahit hindi kami magkita ni Zenith, she is my perfect friend,” said Jessica who won and defeated Hilda Koronel in the Miss Nite Owl Dance in Channel 5’s “Nite Owl Dance Party” before they joined the movies.
“Si Jessica, napakabait n’yan. Kahit hindi na siya nag-aartista, lagi ko siyang naaalala. Naabutan ko na siya na sikat sa showbiz pero down-to-earth pa rin,” Zenith commented.
Well, Nardie Pressa has been around in the fashion industry for so long and he is confident in his relationship with Briones and Pica who he made clothes for them during the 70s and 80s.
“Matagal na tayo talaga,” smiled Pressa.
That is why when Azenith called for a merienda get-together at Via Mare Shangri-La Plaza, Nardie and Jessica didn’t have second thoughts.
“That’s what friends are for,” they merrily exclaimed. (Boy Villasanta)
