While the Philippine automotive industry experienced a fruitful 2023, Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) had a strong performance in terms of sales of its leading cars in the market today.
This was cited by HCPI lady president Rie Miyake when she hosted their recent Media Thanksgiving last week at the Blue Leaf in Taguig City.
“Honda finished strong with over 16,000 units sold, translating to a 20% increase year on year. The Honda BR-V remains HCPI’s best-selling model with over 6,800 units sold, followed by the New Honda City sedan with almost 3,400 units sold, and the New Brio with over 2,500 units sold,” Miyake said.
The newly launched sixth-generation Honda CR-V’s sales performance has been robust when 700 units sold have already been sold, 262 units of which are e:HEV or hybrid, she added. “Although we faced stock constraints for the e:HEV, market acceptance means so much with our global target of 100% electrification of automobiles by 2040.
Launched last September, the Honda CR-V is the first CR-V to offer turbocharged power, and with the e:HEV being full hybrid-electric system, having the improved Honda Sensing and the Honda CONNECT that provide added safety, security and convenience features.
“As we step into this brand-new year, we aim for growth that also brings more meaningful value to our customers, our associates, our business partners. We are set to inaugurate three dealership and we will break ground in 2 new locations, while carrying out operational improvements throughout the network of 37 dealers currently. We will also we witness product launches that will expand Honda Sensing, Honda Connect and e:HEV in our lineup. These are key strategies toward safety for everyone and zero environmental impact. To us at Honda, these innovations delivering on the promise of quality, safety, security, reliability, environmental performance is the best thank you we can give to our customers and this is what it truly means to be the power that supports people’s dreams and aspirations. This has been our commitment and we are standing by it as we embrace and prepare for electrification!” Miyake added.
