The JAC Group celebrated its 60th anniversary this year with the introduction of the All-New JS6 premium SUV which is one of the carmaker’s most advanced and innovative models with an extremely competitive price that truly exceeds customer expectations.
Powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter, direct-injection inline-4 gasoline engine producing a generous 182 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 300 Newton-meters of torque at 1,800 to 3,500 rpm, JS6 is mated to a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission that offers instant performance and exceptional fuel economy.
The All-New JS6 is unmistakably a JAC – high-mounted LED daytime running lights and quad-LED headlights help form the brand’s distinctive corporate face that combines high-tech and modern styling cues with classic, elegant lines. Meanwhile, the 160-millimeter ground clearance, 20-degree approach angle and 19-degree departure angle let you tackle rough surfaces with ease. It also gets neat touches like an upward-sloping beltline, full-length LED taillights, roof rack and 18-inch alloy wheels, as well as premium features like power-folding side mirrors, panoramic sunroof and electric tailgate.
Already renowned for its robust trucks that offer superior value for money, JAC now offers a wide range of high-quality passenger vehicles through JAC Motors Philippines. It is the official importer and distributor of JAC passenger vehicles locally and is part of the Astara Group, a leading multinational mobility provider. The brand officially debuted at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show, offering a wide selection of mobility options, including battery-electric vehicles.
The automaker was founded on May 20, 1964 as the Hefei Jianghuai Automobile Factory, with trial production of the first JAC truck starting in April 1968. In June 1990, the company achieved a pioneering milestone by producing China’s first bus-specific chassis to help the country’s growing transport sector.
On August 24, 2001, the rebranded JAC Motors was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange to signify its continuous growth. Its first multi-purpose vehicle then rolled off the production line on March 18, 2002, laying a good foundation for the brand as it enters the passenger vehicle segment.
And on January 17, 2008, JAC Motors debuted its first entry into the passenger-car market, the Bingyue sedan. Since then, the brand has achieved notable success across various regions including North America, Middle East, Europe, and most recently, Australia with the introduction of the T9 pickup. JAC Motors has also forged significant partnerships, collaborating with Volkswagen and NIO to produce battery-electric vehicles, and teaming up with Cummins to supply a wide range of engines.
