Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has restored access to all services on its mobile app and online banking platform after a prolonged outage that disrupted transactions Wednesday last week.
In a Facebook advisory, BPI said its digital banking services were fully restored as of 9:30 p.m. The disruption occurred for most of the day, which coincided with payday for many Filipino workers.
To assist affected clients, BPI extended the operating hours of all its branches until 5:30 p.m. The bank said the move was intended to accommodate customers who were unable to complete their transactions online.
BPI clarified that its VYBE e-wallet, automated teller machines (ATMs), and debit and credit card services remained operational throughout the outage.
The latest disruption follows a similar digital banking outage experienced by BPI users in June, raising concerns among customers over the reliability of the bank’s online services.
