The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) is exploring ways to support the logistics and e-commerce operations of the Kadiwa ng Pangulo program to help ensure the regular availability of affordable and fresh agricultural products for consumers.
PHLPost Postmaster General Luis Carlos, in a news release issued Friday, said the effort is in line with the agency’s mission to assist local farmers while offering cost-efficient food choices to Filipino households.
“We are not just distributing agricultural products; we are empowering our farmers and supporting the welfare of our fellow Filipinos by making their lives easier and more sustainable,” he stated.
Carlos emphasized that PHLPost is ready to use its vast delivery network — spanning both urban hubs and remote areas — to better connect producers with buyers.
Although a formal partnership has yet to be finalized, the agency is actively looking for ways to help farmers and suppliers directly bring their goods to the market, potentially allowing them to earn more by bypassing middlemen.
Every Friday, PHLPost hosts a Kadiwa ng Pangulo tent at the Manila Central Post Office Annex II in Liwasang Bonifacio, Manila City. This follows a memorandum of understanding that it signed with the Department of Agriculture last April.
The program also includes the P20 Rice Project, which provides high-quality rice at P20 per kilo to qualified beneficiaries such as indigent families, senior citizens, solo parents, and persons with disabilities. Eligible recipients may purchase up to 30 kilograms of rice each month.
